Hi

A great site.  I was doing some family research and  I came across your site and I believe that I may have some wedding photos of, I'm not sure if it is my parents or another relative who was married at St Cuthbert's.  If you are interested I will dig them out and send them to you.  I was christened Mary Hamilton Pllu at South Beach and it was great to see the rememberance to my Uncle Andrew and Cochrane.

Mary

Congratulations on an informative and attractive website.  Well done!

I am seeking information on the Rev. W Rossie Brown, who was married to Mary Jane Fullarton in 1884 (my maternal great-grand-mother).  From your site I have noted that Mr Brown was the parish minister of St Cuthbert’s in the early 1900’s.  I understand that Rossie and Mary had a son, James Rossie Brown, who also became a Minister of the Church of Scotland and who died in Edinburgh in 1952.

I would be grateful for any information that can be provided about these two gentlemen.

Thank you for your reply to my enquiry about the Rev. W. Rossie Brown and his son, the Rev. James Brown.  Unfortunately, our local library does not have the “Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae” nor do I think we can obtain it on inter-library loan.  Therefore, if you can access a copy in your local library I would be grateful for any information you can provide from it.  I will happily repay any costs you incur in obtaining and sending this material.

My father was born in Glasgow and migrated to Australia with his parents in the early 1900’s.  His recollection of family ties was rather vague and now that he has passed on we are trying to track down our family tree from Australia, and that isn’t always easy!  Thanks for your help.

I have enjoyed browsing on your church’s website.  The photos of the church reveal a very beautiful building ofwhich, I am sure, you all are very proud.  Keep up the good work!

With kind regards,
Gordon
